As technology continues to evolve, JOY's virtual sculpting studio is constantly evolving as well. The Oculus Quest Pro, when linked to a PC, provides a high-performance, wireless VR experience that allows for even greater freedom of movement and expression. The software, Medium by Adobe, is a powerful sculpting and painting tool that offers a wide range of brushes and tools for creating highly detailed and realistic sculptures. Additionally, JOY uses Camlink to capture VR footage to an M1 Mac and GoPro for first-person perspective mixed reality, which allows for even more dynamic and immersive creations.
JOY's past equipment includes a custom-built PC that was spray painted and a variety of VR headsets such as the HTC Vive, Google Daydream, Samsung Gear VR, Oculus Go, Rift, Rift S and Oculus Quest 2. JOY also utilized additional tools such as a green screen, Vive trackers, and Leap Motion hand tracker to enhance the creative experience.
Overall, JOY's virtual sculpting studio is a dynamic and ever-evolving setup that allows for the creation of highly detailed and realistic sculptures in virtual reality. As technology continues to advance, the possibilities for immersive creativity are endless.
