📦 Shop Policies

Plain-language summary of how the JOYshop works, operated by JOYworkshop LLC.

The JOYshop sells art objects — toys, prints, apparel, and small-batch handmade things. They’re not mass-market consumer products. Read this before buying. The full legal version lives in the JOYshop section of the Terms of Service; this page is the friendly summary.

All sales are final

No returns. No refunds. No exchanges. Once an order is placed, that’s the deal. If you’re not sure, please don’t order — reach out first and we’ll answer questions.

You’re buying art, not a consumer product

  • Items are often handmade or produced in small runs and may have visible variation, finish marks, or minor imperfections. That’s art, not defect.
  • Items may break, fade, melt, crack, peel, deteriorate, or stop working over time. JOYworkshop does not repair, replace, or compensate for any of this.
  • Everything is sold as-is, with all faults, with no warranties of any kind — express or implied.
  • Items are not toys, safety equipment, or food-contact products unless explicitly labeled as such, and they should not be used by children without supervision.

Shipping

  • JOYworkshop ships through standard carriers. Times and rates depend on destination, item, and current conditions.
  • Risk of loss transfers at shipment. Once an item is handed to the carrier, lost, damaged, or undelivered packages are not JOYworkshop’ responsibility.
  • If shipping insurance is offered at checkout, we strongly recommend you take it. If you decline it, that’s your choice.
  • You are responsible for the address you enter. If a package is returned to us as undeliverable due to a wrong address, you’ll need to pay reshipment to receive it.
  • International orders may incur duties, taxes, or customs fees on arrival; these are your responsibility.

Goodwill, not policy

John (the artist) and the JOYworkshop team are good humans and may, from time to time, help out a collector who runs into trouble — with replacements, store credit, or something else. This is voluntary. It does not create a refund policy, a warranty, or any future obligation. If we help once, we are not obligated to do it again.

Sales tax

JOYworkshop is registered with the Florida Department of Revenue and collects and remits applicable sales tax on physical goods. Your tax line at checkout is calculated automatically by Shopify based on your shipping address.

Payment & cart

  • Payments are processed by Shopify and its payment processors. JOYworkshop does not see or store your payment card.
  • Cart contents persist locally on your device and in our database so you don’t lose your selections between sessions.
  • JOYworkshop may cancel orders, limit quantities, or correct pricing errors at its discretion.
